Step-by-step coaching cues

  1. Set your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width on the floor, forming a rigid plank from head to heels.
  2. Lower your chest towards the floor over 3 seconds by bending your elbows backwards at a 45-degree angle.
  3. Pause momentarily when your chest hovers 2 to 3 cm off the floor.
  4. Press the floor away aggressively to full arm extension, spreading your shoulder blades slightly at the top.

Joint & safety considerations

No specific joint contraindications are flagged for Push-Up. Maintain controlled tempo across the full range of motion and stop the set if sharp joint pain occurs.
